Elsie’s Attic

Let me introduce you to this gorgeous online Boutique called Elsie’s Attic I’ve been following for sometime now.  They are an independently owned  online fashion store that offer cruelty free fashion.

I ordered these absolutely stunning sandals in Champagne back in May but due to the near on biblical daily downpours I haven’t been able to wear them until now.

I love & adore them them so much I’m going to order another pair in a different colour for my holidays.

They’re super comfy and sparkly and at £19.00 and a standard £3.99 delivery charge they are a bargain. Get your pair HERE

Made out of Vegan PU leather they are 100% cruelty free.  The only word of caution with these is to be careful as the gems are glued on so I wouldn’t use them for everyday wear.

Vegan Shoe Brands

The Fashion industry is the second biggest polluter after the oil industry and there are many factors as to why the fashion industry has such a negative impact on the environment.

One being the production of leather, often people think that leather materials are better for the environment than plastic when used in fashion, but not only is the leather industry cruel to the animals used to produce leather but the process of finishing the leather requires a lot of toxic chemical treatment, the chemicals used include dyes, formaldehyde, lead and even cyanide making it not only bad for our environment but it is also very hazardous for the workers in the leather manufacturing industry as they have a very high risk rate of developing lung cancer.

Here are 5 luxury alternative shoe companies that are Vegan and Cruelty Free and additionally aim to have the least detrimental impact on our environment while ensuring the workers who make them work in a safe environment and are paid well for their shoe making skills.

Beyond Skin are a British luxury footwear brand that are committed to ethical fashion. All products are handmade in Spain mostly using recycled materials and materials that have the least adverse effect on the environment. Screen Shot 2018-03-14 at 21.17.32.png

Eventually Beyond Skin caught a lucky break when Natalie Portman discovered the brand and has since wore their shoes to the Golden Globe awards and the Oscars. They have been featured in Marie Claire, Vogue, Grazia, Elle, they are PETA approved and endorsed by the Vegan society.

Beyond Skin deliver worldwide and have a good variety of footwear to suit most styles, they are continuing to grow and expand their business and will be launching a mens line in the near future.

Vegan Handbag Brands

The term Vegan and fashion have not always gone so well together, with many high fashion brands opting for Leather, Suede, fur and even Reptile Skins deeming them “luxury materials”, Vegan’s have often turned their back on the fashion world.

Now that Veganism is becoming more popular and even considered “trendy” by some, this popularity has provided the opportunity for Vegan fashion brands to emerge.
